FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I make an appointment online?
No. We do not make appointments online. Each applicant must have a brief telephone interview and submit a Medical Records Release. As soon as we have received your Medical Records, an appointment can be made.
What are your fees?
Please see our FEES page.
After my visit with Medical THC of Georgia, what happens next?
After your visit here and you have been determined to qualify for the Georgia Low-THC Card, we will upload your information to the Georgia Low-THC Oil Registry website within 24 hours.
They will contact you regarding how to pick up your card. The State of Georgia charges $25 for the card, which is the usual and customary Georgia Vital Records fee.
After I get my card, do I get a prescription for Low-THC Oil, or what?
No. There is currently no provision in Georgia law for prescribing, buying, selling or manufacturing Low-THC Oil, or cannabis in any form. The law simply provides for the possession and usage of Low-THC Oil…..it does not make the sale or possession of any other type of cannabis or marijuana legal in Georgia. Possession of any form of marijuana by an unauthorized person is still a violation of state and federal law.
I found a verifying physician closer to my home. Can I transfer my card there?
At the present time, the State of Georgia has no official provision for transferring to a new certifying doctor. Additionally, if changing to a new certifying doctor, your new physician will need to re-submit your application as a new application. That is, your Georgia Low THC Oil Card is tied to your certifying doctor and may not be renewed by another doctor. A new application will need to be submitted.
Are you in favor of legalizing recreational marijuana in Georgia?
No. At this time, and until further research has been done, it is my opinion that cannabis products should be reserved for MEDICAL USE ONLY.
What if I have additional questions?
