HB 324 May Soon Pass The Senate

Georgia Senate Considers Allowing Medical THC Sales At 60 Dispensaries.

Atlanta-  Lawmakers in the Georgia House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill to allow the farming, production, and sale of low THC marijuana in Georgia by a vote of 123-40 on March 5, 2019.

HB 324 allows for 60 dispensaries in the state to sell medical marijuana and recognizes the need for a safe reliable supply of medical THC for patients in the state.

“The General Assembly finds that the establishment of the Low THC Oil Patient Registry in 2015 allows Georgia patients to possess low THC oil but provides no way to access low THC oil. The General Assembly finds that thousands of Georgians have serious medical conditions that can be improved by the medically approved use of cannabis and that the law should not stand between them and treatment necessary for life and health.” – HB 324

The bill has passed over to the Senate where it is being debated now with a public hearing being held on March 21st at the state capitol. Governor Kemp has stated that is open-minded and likely to sign the bill into law.
